Full day Nagarkot – Changu tour presents one of the best hikings so near and so memorable from the Kathmandu city. Itinerary

    Day 01: At 9 am in the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and directly drive to Nagarkot Hill Top (2,050 m) and stop at the Nagarkot View Tower.

    It is about 32 km and takes about 1½ hrs. It is a highly scenic drive with the picturesque villages and farmland after we pass by Bahktapur township en route. Our uphill drive goes through winding hilly, but picturesque road offering a colorful bird’s-eye-view of the Kathmandu Valley. After we cross the first pass of the hilly road, the beautifully snow capped Himalayan view appears to allure us for the forced appreciation. There is a tower on the hill top, from where we can enjoy the best panoramic view of the mighty Himalaya including the Mt Everest (8,848 m) in a clear day.

    After our lunch in a restaurant with the best view of the Himalaya, we drive back to Telkot, a stop on our way back in a mid-hill part and start our hiking to Changunarayan (historically, the oldest temple of the town). It takes us through the green lush wilderness, beautiful villages with well terraced farmland with millets, mustard and corn depending upon the season. The lovely villages here inhabited by different hilly ethnic groups like Gurung, Magar, Tamang, Brahmins and Chhetris present picturesque scenery and leave you speechless in appreciation. After about 3 hours unforgettable walk on the ridge, we reach Changunarayan where our guide will present a historical explanation of the site. Late afternoon, our car will pick us up and drive back to our hotel.
